Surface or model grinding is an operation that is typically done on manual operated machines in China. Many skilled works can be found in this industry and mostly factories that supply surface grinded parts have between 10 and 50 machines often divided in 2 departments: one for steel and one for carbides. Especially Taiwan is a large supplier of good quality man-operated surface grinding machines, which give a good result for most jobs at economic cost. For more difficult jobs sometimes Japanese and/or CNC-controlled machines are used.
